Development and Inclusion
Helping to develop local sports teams through training and talent development initiatives and taking steps to foster a more active community is one of our core missions when operating a facility. We make every possible effort to give back to the community and help people find new sports and activities that will help them live healthier and more active lifestyles. We also pride ourselves on offering a wide range of inclusive programmes, ensuring that everyone, no matter their age, gender or disability can take part at our centres.
It is Parkwood's belief that successful and meanngful sports development is acheived first and foremost through partnerships. We work with a wide range of other groups and organisations to deliver meaningful sports development at each facility we operate.
Getting People Active
We understand that being active should be enjoyable, social and accessible. Parkwood Leisure provides a whole range of brands throughout our leisure centre to create active communities across all fitness levels, ages, interests and abilities. Sway Dance has encouraged children of a young age to look after their health by taking up one of our many exciting genres of dance and our expressions fitness brand ensures that every customer has the opportunity to have their own personalised programme with ongoing support.
The sporting events that we are able to host at our facilities range from local competitions to national events with television coverage. For instance, Spiceball Leisure Centre in Banbury was the chosen venue for Sky Sports Snooker which is televised nationally; whilst even at our smallest centres we are able to accommodate local events such as galas and showcases.
