Parkwood Leisure sets industry benchmark

rkwood Leisure has become one of the UK’s first leisure facilities operators to achieve ISO 45001.

The assessment process, which was conducted by awarding body NQA, was held over 12 days and involved examining documentation and records, and interviews with staff at all levels of the organisation to determine their understanding and implementation of Parkwood’s health and safety policies.

An audit was also carried out at 10 sites to establish procedure compliance; no major non-conformances were found and only two minor non-conformances were recorded.

“The Board made the commitment to achieve ISO 45001 certification to not only ensure we were compliant with industry standards, but to also drive continuous improvement at all levels of our operation,” said Glen Hall, managing director of Parkwood Leisure.

As one of the UK’s leading leisure operators, Parkwood employs more than 4500 people and welcomes approximately 20 million visitors every year across almost 100 sites throughout England and Wales.
