PARKWOOD LEISURE BOOSTS COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVE EMPLOYMENT BY SIGNING UP TO ‘DISABILITY CONFIDENT’ SCHEME

Parkwood Leisure has been named a Disability Confident employer, as part of the organisation’s commitment to maximising employment opportunities for disabled people.

Disability Confident is a government initiative designed to encourage employers to think differently about disability and take action to improve how they recruit, retain, and develop disabled people and those with health conditions.

As of January 2021, 7.7. million working age people in the UK have a disability, and the scheme aims to provide more employment opportunities by proactively changing attitudes and behaviours through Disability Confident organisations.

Parkwood Leisure’s partner companies Legacy Leisure and Lex Leisure are also part of the scheme, which represents over 19,400 UK businesses.

“We are dedicated to ensuring our recruitment processes and opportunities are as accessible as possible, and our commitment to the Disability Confident initiative further supports this,” said Sue McGrath, HR Director for Parkwood Leisure.

“By enrolling in the scheme, we will also be able to tap into a wider pool of talent to help us find the best people for the business, and actively promote a culture of diversity and inclusivity to greater support disabled people both within and outside of the organisation.”
