PARKWOOD OUTDOOR DOLYGAER REACHES TOWN AND COUNTY BUSINESS CHAMPIONS FINAL

Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer have reached the final of the Powys Town & County Business awards.

The awards recognise the hard work and dedication of small, community-based businesses and the impact on their local areas at an awards night held at the Hard Day’s Night Hotel in Liverpool.

Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer is a natural beauty spot in Wales and provides a unique setting for its guests. Its scenic surroundings produce stunning views over the Pontsticill reservoir, Nant Callan river and Brecon Beacon’s rolling hills.

In addition to the scenery, the outdoor centre hosts an array of activities which are carried out by local staff. The activities range from canoeing to zip lining and rock climbing. Visiting guests are party to several overnight accommodation options including campsites, lodges, cottages and chalets.

With most hospitality organisations forced to shut over the past 12 months due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Dolygaer has proved to be an escape for guests in the summer months of 2020. The contribution the site made in the nation’s relief from three lockdowns has been recognised with its nomination for the award.

Glen Hall, Managing Director of Parkwood Leisure, was pleased to hear of the recognition:

“I am delighted that Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer has been identified as one of the outstanding national businesses for 2020. The team at the centre have done an excellent job throughout challenging times to provide some much needed entertainment to people. Awards seem to be a frequent theme for the site after it was awarded the ‘best outdoor centre in Wales’ at the hospitality awards in 2019”.
