Soft Play Area and Cafe opening 12 October at West Park LC as part of £1.3 million investment

As part of the £1.3 million investments to improve facilities and activities for customers, Parkwood Leisure in partnership with Erewash Borough Council has just completed another milestone with the installation of the Soft Play Area and Cafe at West Park Leisure Centre.

Fun fun and more fun! The children’s soft play area will provide a fun, interactive learning environment for up to 6-year-olds. The area will include a rope bridge, climbing areas, spiders web maze and many other fun areas to challenge your little ones and let off a little steam! Mum and dad can keep a watchful eye whilst relaxing and having refreshments in the new coffee pod cafe area.

The trendy new cafe area will be available to all customers and visitors to West Park Leisure Centre and West Park and anyone who fancies popping in for a light snack and a delicious Latte!

This major revamp follows the investment into the fantastic new gym facilities at West Park Leisure Centre in Long Eaton, Rutland Sports Park and Sandiacre Friesland Sports Centre, which now boasts state of the art fitness equipment, bespoke group exercise studios, new free weights & functional training areas plus lots of additional equipment to meet a wide variety of user needs.

Glen Hall, Managing Director for Parkwood Leisure said “We are really excited to be working in partnership with Erewash Borough Council and that we have now completed a further investment into the soft play area and cafe. We are also pleased to announce that the installation of the Skytrail has also started at West Park Leisure Centre which is due to open in early 2020.”

Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure: said “When we joined forces with Legacy Leisure earlier this year, we both made it absolutely clear that providing a better deal for residents and leisure-users was at the heart of this pro-active partnership. Here again we see evidence of that, a significant investment to enhance the facilities available at West Park Leisure Centre to ensure that the centre continues to thrive.”

We look forward to welcoming customers to our brand new soft play and cafe soon!
