This landmark leisure centre was built on time and on budget
The Crosby Leisure Centre project involved building a landmark leisure procured under Private Finance Initiative (PFI) to replace the old Crosby Baths, demolished in the mid-90s. A strict budget was in place for this project and regular design reviews were conducted to monitor budget versus specification, use of value engineering techniques and strict change control during construction.
The project was a finalist in the ‘Best Accommodation/ Property Project below £20 Million’ category at the 2002 Public Private Finance Awards and was highly commended in the National LABC Services Built in Quality Awards 2004. The project received national recognition and was completed on time and to budget.
