PARKWOOD OUTDOORS DOLYGAER AWARDS RECOGNITION CONTINUES

17/06/21 – Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer’s outstanding facilities have continued to be recognised after winning the ‘Best Outdoor Activity Centre in South Wales’ accolade at the Resorts and Retreats awards.

The award comes in addition to the outdoor centre recently being nominated for the Town and County Business Champions final.

The Resorts and Retreats awards are run by Luxlife magazine to reward true excellence within the hospitality industry. They cover all aspects from spas to bed and breakfasts, hotels to yoga resorts and everything in between.

Rather than the number of nominations, winners are selected purely on merit and contribution to the wider community. They have recognised that Dolygaer not only provides its stunning natural beauty but also the wide range of activities offered.

Overlooking the Pontsticill reservoir, Nant Callan river and Brecon Beacon’s rolling hills, the outdoor centre hosts an array of activities which are carried out by local staff. The activities range from canoeing to zip lining and rock climbing. These in addition to several overnight accommodation options including campsites, lodges, cottages and chalets.

The natural beauty spot has also proven to be an escape for guests in the summer months of 2020 after most of the hospitality sector was still closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The outdoor centre has seen a strong appetite since reopening after the third UK lockdown in 2021.

Glen Hall, Managing Director of Parkwood Leisure, has said:

“I am delighted that Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer has received the award for best outdoor centre in South Wales. It is recognition for the work that has been done over the last year to provide some relief for the nation. We hope they can make it a double sweep at the Town and County Business award finals in July.”
