PARKWOOD LEISURE WIN ONE AWARD AND HIGHLY COMMENDED FOR TWO OTHERS AT UKACTIVE AWARDS

02/09/21 – Parkwood Leisure won one award and was highly commended in two other categories at the 2021 ukactive Awards.

Parkwood Health and Fitness Salisbury picked up the Regional Club of the Year (South) award; the leisure operator was also recognised in the Digital Transformation and Generation Active categories.

The ukactive Awards are the most sought after in the industry, with competition fierce amongst the top leisure and fitness companies in the country.

Parkwood Health and Fitness Salisbury’s outstanding facilities and personal rapport with their members were two major factors in winning the prestigious Regional Club of the Year award.

Parkwood’s digital transformation over the past 18 months has led to an overhaul of the company’s digital infrastructure, which has significantly aided a strong recovery since reopening.

Parkwood’s Learn To Swim programme was highly commended in the Generation Active Award category. The programme, led by Head of Aquatics, Suzanne Gabb, is unique within the industry and focuses on teaching children survival skills in water. The company recently announced that participation numbers were now exceeding pre-Covid levels.

Glen Hall, Managing Director of Parkwood Leisure, said: “After what has been an extremely challenging 18 months for the industry, I feel great pride in the recognition we’ve achieved. For Salisbury to have won the Regional Club of the Year award is a testament to the team there. I am delighted with the strides being made with our digital journey and our swimming lesson programme and look forward to building on this success as we move into 2022.”
