UPGRADED DRIVING RANGE OPENS AT CASTLE POINT GOLF COURSE

12 October 2021 – Castle Point Golf Course, operated by Glendale Golf in partnership with Parkwood Leisure, have announced the opening of their upgraded driving range in a £100,000 project.

The course, based in Canvey Island, Essex, has seen renovations to its course and clubhouse in recent years; modernizing the driving range has since been the priority.

Brand new dividers and mats have been added to make spacious bays and good terrain to hit the balls off of. A major upgrade came in the form of LED lighting so the course can now stay open later in the evening to suit customer needs. Furthermore, after taking on member feedback, a priority was to ensure the driving range now only stocks high quality golf balls – premium Volvik range balls are now stocked to meet that requirement.

In addition to this, the dispenser of the Volvik range balls now accepts contactless card payments, for customer convenience. For more frequent users of the range, they can purchase the ‘Digicard’ which offers a better value of range balls per visit.

Finally, members can order food and drink directly to their bays by scanning a QR code with their mobile phones, to recharge before hitting another basket.

Brad Wellmen, General Manager at Castle Point, said:

“Our team has done an outstanding job of improving the golf course and clubhouse in recent years. The driving range was next on our list and I’m delighted with the results of the upgrade. We’ve been busy every day since the reopening and the feedback we’ve had so far has been incredible. The £100k investment means newcomers now have a brilliant place to try golf for the first time. Experienced golfers will also appreciate the changes we’ve made, including a contactless ball dispenser, premium mats and quality Volvik™ range balls.”
