SIDCUP LEISURE CENTRE OPENS SUITE OF NEW FACILITIES FOLLOWING £200,000 INVESTMENT

22/04/22 Sidcup Leisure Centre have invested £200,000 in upgrading their facilities at the centre to include a new purpose-built free weights area and equipment from Life Fitness and ICG®.

As part of the upgrade and in response to members’ feedback, a new dedicated free weights area has been built after transforming what was originally the crèche. The new area comprises 45 pieces of equipment whilst allowing a spacious area for customers to workout.

The new area paved the way for new Life Fitness equipment to be installed in the main gym after allowing more space for new and upgraded kit. Treadmills, cross trainers and PowerMill Climbers, as well as selectorised strength training equipment and Multi-Jungle cable machines have all been installed as part of the enhancements.

The gym’s flooring and AV system have also been upgraded to improve the training experience for members.

The indoor cycling studio has been enhanced with the installation of 20+ IC6 bikes from ICG®. Members can now experience group cycling classes using Coach by Color®, ICG®’s unique training system based on five coloured training zones to accurately coach a user’s effort.

As part of the opening of the brand new refurbishment, Sidcup Leisure Centre is hosting an open day on Sunday 24 April to allow members and non-members access to the facilities free of charge. A range of exercise classes will be held as well as group inductions on how to use the new equipment safely.

Commenting on the new fitness suite, Leanne Wye, Centre Manager at Sidcup Leisure Centre, said: “We listened closely to our members and visitors ahead of devising the plans for our new fitness suite, and then worked closely with Life Fitness to ensure we maximised the renovations.

“The investment is part of our promise to continue to provide our customers with the best possible experience, equipment, and technology, and to enhance the health and wellbeing of our community.”
